June 2008 Happens Inflation Of 2.11 Percent In Seven City In Jawa Barat

Abstract

Beginning in June 2008, the calculation of Consumer Price Index (CPI) using the base year 2007 = 100 (previously 2002 = 100) is based on the 2007 Live Cost Survey. The CPI of Jawa Barat covers 7 cities, namely Bandung City, Cirebon City, Tasikmalaya City , Bekasi City, Bogor City, Sukabumi City and Depok City. By using the new base year, in June 2008 there was an inflation of 2.11 percent or a rise in the CPI from 107.65 to 109.92. June 2008 inflation was attributable to price increases as indicated by the increase in index in the seven expenditure categories as follows: foodstuff group 0.37 percent, food, beverages, cigarette & tobacco 1.71 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas and 0.15 percent of fuel, 0.19 percent for clothing, 0.96 percent for health, 0.77 percent for education, recreation and sports, and transport, communication & financial services 8.76 percent.
