Abstract

  • Farmers’ Terms of Trade (FTT) is the ratio of the price index received by farmers (IT) to the price index paid by farmers (IB). 
  • FTT is one of the indicators to see the level of purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. FTTalso shows the exchange rate (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed or for production costs. 
  • Jawa Barat's FTT in January 2025 increased by 2.21 percent compared to December 2024, from 111.71 to 114.17. 
  • The price index of agricultural production (IT) increased by 2.34 percent and the price index of goods and services consumed by farmers (IB) increased by 0.14 percent. 
  • Agriculture’s Terms of Trade (NTUP) in West Java in January 2025 rose by 1.66 percent, while the Cost of Production and Capital Goods Index (BPPBM) rose by 0.67 percent.
