Abstract

One of the policies of the Jawa Barat Provincial KUKM Service in efforts to develop Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises is the development of superior commodity centers. Development through a business center approach, currently there are planned to be 60 business centers spread across the Regencies/Municipalities of Jawa Barat Province.The development of these centers is carried out in stages according to the capabilities of the Regional Government. A total of 12 centers have been planned to be included in the guidance of the KUKM Service in the 2002 period. The process of developing these 12 centers. starting with the support of accurate data and information, both regarding the socio-economic potential of the center's business and prospective cooperatives that will accompany the development of this business.The West Java Provincial KUKM Service has collaborated with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in order to provide supporting data for the implementation of the policy for developing superior commodity centers. BPS has carried out data collection activities in 12 centers and as a research report published a publication entitled "Analysis of the Role of KUKM in Leading Commodity Centers on the Regency/Municipality Economy"
