Abstract
October 2013 CPI Combined Jawa Barat covering 7
cities of Bandung City, Cirebon City, Tasikmalaya City, Bekasi City, Bogor
City, Sukabumi City and Depok City experienced a decrease in index. CPI for
October 2013 of 143.99; down compared to the September 2013 CPI of 144.01, thus
a deflation of 0.01 percent. The calendar year-to-date inflation from January
to October 2013 is 8.88 percent and year-on-year inflation for the last twelve
months (October 2013 to October 2012) stood at 9.20 percent. Of the seven
expenditure groups, the deflation category was 0.71 percent and the Clothing
Group by 0.29 percent. While other expenditure groups experienced inflation
among others Food, Beverage, Cigarette & Tobacco Group by 0.48 percent,
Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas & Fuel Groups by 0.09 percent, Health
Group by 0.02 percent, Education Group , Recreation & Sports by 0.59
percent, and Group Transport, Communication & Financial Services by 0.30
percent. Of the seven CPI monitoring cities in Jawa Barat in October 2013,
three cities experienced deflation. The highest deflation occurred in Kota
Bekasi at 0.15 percent, followed by Cirebon City by 0.12 percent, and Bandung
with 0.06 percent. While the other four cities experienced inflation among
others Tasikmalaya City by 0.23 percent, Sukabumi City by 0.20 percent, Bogor
City by 0.13 percent, and Depok City by 0.12 percent. Foodstuffs group
contributed the highest deflation to the CPI of Jawa Barat with CPI of October
2013 of 180.16 down compared to the September 2013 CPI of 181.44 thus deflation
of 0.71 percent. The sub group that experienced the highest deflation was
vegetables sub-group by 7.07 percent.
