Fixed Equipment 2007 & Forecast Rate II Rice Production, Corn & Soybean In Jawa Barat Province Year 2008

During 2007 rice production in Jawa Barat Province reached 9.914.019 tons of GKG. Compared to 2006, rice production in 2007 increased by 495,447 tons or 5.26 percent. Increased production occurred in the type of wetland rice which reached 5.05 percent, while the production of paddy fields increased by 11.41 percent. The increase in rice production in 2007 was due to an increase of harvested area by 1.71 percent and yield per hectare by 3.47 percent compared to 2006. Rice production of Jawa Barat Province in 2008 is estimated to reach 10,077,625 tons of GKG or up 1.65 percent compared in 2007. Based on the estimation of rice production, rice production in 2008 is estimated to reach 6,369,059 tons. Increased rice production in 2008 is estimated due to an increase in harvested area by 1.45 percent from 1,829,085 hectares in 2007 to 1,855,584 hectares in 2008.
