August 2013 Open Unemployment Rate of 9.22 Percent

Jawa Barat has increased the number of labor force. In August 2013 the labor force amounted to 20,284,633 people, while in August 2012 there were 20,150,094 people, or an increase of 134,539 people in the period of one year. Labor Force Participation Rate declined from 63.78 percent in August 2012 to 63.01 percent in August 2013. The number of people working in Jawa Barat in August 2013 also increased compared to August 2012. In August 2013 the working population was recorded as much as 18,413,984 people, an increase of 92,876 people compared to August last year as many as 18,321,108 people, or an increase of 0.51 percent. During the period of one year, noted the addition of the number of unemployed as many as 41,663 people. In August 2012 the unemployed in Jawa Barat 1,828,986 people, while in August 2013 recorded unemployment of 1,870,649 people. Jawa Barat's Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) increased by 0.14 percent from 9.08 percent in August 2012, to 9.22 percent in August 2013. The largest contributor to employment in Jawa Barat Province in August 2013 was trading (25.63 percent) followed by Jawa Baratal business (21.27 percent) and agriculture (19.93 percent). When compared with the situation in August 2012, the number of people working in the field of trade increased 0.55 percent, in the field of Jawa Baratal business increased 0.18 percent, while in the field of agricultural business decreased 1.72 percent.
